Read Across America

Join United Way of Broward County’s Women United as we celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday and support the National Education Association’s (NEA) Read Across America initiative by reading “If I Ran The Circus” to over 500 children at Sunland Park Academy.
After reading to the children you will then have the opportunity to participate in a classroom activity and hand each child a brand new copy of the book for them to build an at-home library.

For those that are volunteering for the day of the event, please take a moment to review important details below:
Location: Sunland Park Academy – 919 NW 13th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311.
Arrival: 8:45 am (Please plan to arrive early to allow time for parking and check-in)
Time: 9:00 am – 10:30 am
Parking: Volunteers will park in the school parking lot. Attire: If you have a United Way or Women United shirt, please wear it to the event.
Identification: Please have a valid state ID, as each volunteer will need to be scanned into the school database. (You will not be allowed into the school without a valid ID.)
